«Center-internet» was founded on October 14, 1999 by Center-invest Bank, the largest regional bank in the South of Russia

The project pursues the following aims:

• Developing and implementing Internet-technologies in small and medium enterprises of Rostov city.
• Educating intelligent elite of the region by promoting innovation technologies and Internet possibilities among the young people.

This complex became the first in Rostov-on-Don and largest in SFD public access to Internet. During the years of its operation, more than a third of the city population used services provided in the complex. Many times the complex was used to organize social-oriented events.

The services provided by Informational & Educational complex “Center-internet” contributed a lot to promotion of Internet services, increased the number of Internet users among Rostov and Rostov region citizens and had positive effect to popularization of Internet technologies in the sphere of education, business and daily activities.

The complex was many times the place where social oriented evens were organized together with the Administration of the region, regional Mass Media and commercial structures:

• press conferences, internet-bridges and on-line interviews (with the mayor of Rostov-on-Don, representatives of region Administration, the Head of Chamber of Industry and Commerce writer Daniil Koretsky, football player Sergey Andreev and other famous persons),
• presentations of Internet resources (regional portals, education websites of Great Britain with involvement of Ambassador of GB in RF),
• seminar, trainings and corporate tests (incl. of usage of public purchase system)
• marketing actions, surveys and hall tests (voting within the framework of the action “Popular good”, research of demand for different services and goods
• events for the youths (tournament on Internet search, cybersport cup of SFD, contest on programming)

The services provided by Informational & Educational complex “Center-internet” contributed a lot to promotion of Internet services, increased the number of Internet users among Rostov and Rostov region citizens and had positive effect to popularization of Internet technologies in the sphere of education, business and daily activities.
